Improvisation for the Actor
Isn’t improvisation difficult? Isn’t it all about being funny? NO!
Improvisation is at the heart of acting, of becoming - however briefly - someone other than your everyday self. It can inform your rehearsal period, greatly enhancing character and scene development, and it can save you from ‘dying’ on stage.
Once comfortable with improvising, you can tackle those heart-stopping moments when lines go missing or someone / something ‘misbehaves’, and you can enjoy a feeling of security on stage. Things can't always go as planned, but here you gain coping-skills that will stand you in very good stead when those best-laid schemes 'gang agley'.
